A Little History

The Iona Bonneville Sewer District was organized in 1973 following a petition to the District Court of the Seventh Judicial District of the State of Idaho in and for the County of Bonneville.

The court findings declared the Iona Bonneville Sewer District to be "a governmental subdivision of the State of Idaho and a body corporate with all the powers of a public quasi-municipal corporation." As such, the Iona Bonneville Sewer District serves a public use and promotes the health, safety, prosperity, security, and general welfare of the inhabitants of its District (Idaho Code Section 42-3201) through the protection of the area's aquifer.

To this end, the Iona Bonneville Sewer District has developed and maintains a system for the collection, transmission, and disposal of sewage within its boundaries for domestic, commercial, industrial, and other such uses and purposes for which said system may be used.
